Some of you might be wondering what this title means. For others it might ring a bell, but for some of you this is something that sounds very familiar. Those 2 names in the title are what the users of the random forum of 4chan are called. So what is 4chan exactly?
4chan.org's random forum is what people call the "hell-hole" of the internet, a place where integrity goes to die. Because every post people make is "anonymous" or "anon"( you don't have to register to post something). People write everything they can think of (mostly very cynical and racist), they praise the school shootings and joke about doing the same at their school. (Even in Belgium, where a guy threatened to have a school shooting in Mechelen). But besides that they are also responsible for the more elaborate and complex hacking attempts on various things. Such as a Christian dating and the times.com most influential person's poll. On a funnier note they also created some internet memes such as lolcats and rickrolling.
You'll probably know these "motivational" pictures taken from 4chan aswell (click on the pictures for a bigger version)

As a closing note on this post I found this nice definition on the internet that describes what 4chan is:

you have just entered the very heart, soul, and life force of the internet. this is a place beyond sanity, wild and untamed. there is nothing new here. "new" content on 4chan is not found; it is created from old material. every interesting, offensive, shocking, or debate inspiring topic you've seen elsewhere has been posted here ad infinitum. we are the reason for "not safe for work". we are the anonymous army. cross us and you will fail. anonymous is everywhere. you depend on us every day. we bag your groceries, we fix your computers. anonymous sees you before you see him. sitting at desks around the world right now is a nameless, faceless, unforgiving mafia composed of the best of the best.

Can you spot the face in the beans?

Thursday, October 22, 2009

Take a look at the illustration below and see if you can spot the face.  Once you have seen it you won’t believe that you once didn’t see it…

Don’t say where it is, but feel free to say if you spotted it and long long it took.  This probably says something about you, but I have no idea what.

Have Fun

An art installation by German artist Ottmar Horl featuring hundreds of Nazi-saluting garden gnomes.
It’s located in Straubing, Germany.

Is this Satire?
In Germany it's forbidden to do Nazi-Salute for humans is it the same for Garden Gnomes?

A belgian solution

Wednesday, October 14, 2009

The times that I can be 'proud' of my Belgian (e)ID card are scares (although our football team seems to be on the rise again). The feeling of unity is almost non existing, but sometimes people abroad tend to grasp our concept of non-violent conflict (Flanders vs Wallonie), label it pragmatic and try to use it as a solution .That's why it has been called "the belgian solution" (for example by the Canadians) but the article below gives a comparison that I find new and pretty intriguing. Feel free to read it and give your comments on it!

Naga Jolokia

The Naga Jolokia also known as the Ghost Pepper is considered to be the spiciest pepper in the world. It is between 50 and 70 times more spicy then Tabasco sauce.  The hotness or piquancy of a chili pepper is measured by the Scoville Scale and is defined by the amount of capsaicin it contains
This naga jolokia score between 855,000–1,050,000 on this scale.
A Jalapeño Pepper scores between 2,500 and 10,000 Scoville units in heat.
Tabasco scores between 2500-5000 units on the scale.

It's impossible to use this in Kitchen or consume it but it think
it can be used to scare animals away or make your own pepperspray.

Pic of the day : Banksy art or crime ?

Tuesday, October 13, 2009

Past Sunday on Belgian television:
Stijn Van De Voorde visits London to check Banksy's street art or at least what's left  it. Most of his artwork disappears after a few months or years because of the zero-tolerance policy of the Council and London Metropolitan Police Force. I really like his artwork and consider him to be a great artist.
So far he's working anonymous and that's quite intriguing.
He's currently working on something big in London.
I can hardly wait to see his new artwork
What do you think about it ? is Banksy  Art or Crime ?
